Use the same connection, firmware and profile when repeating a check. These measurements describe browser input and do not assign a hardware health score.

Trigger Travel · Last 6 Seconds
Slowly squeeze and release each trigger. A digital or instant-trigger mode can jump directly between endpoints.

Observed Press / Release Counts
↓ Presses · ↑ Releases. Counts start at observed state transitions; a control already held when sampling begins has no recorded press. Brief events between browser samples can be missed.
How to read these measurements
The guided sweep records the greatest radius in each of 32 direction sectors. A direction counts as covered at radius 0.75. Outline deviation is the mean absolute difference from radius 1, shown only after all directions are covered. An intended square response can have higher deviation.
Centring records four releases per stick: left, right, up and down. After input returns below radius 0.5, it settles for 0.4 seconds and averages the following 0.4 seconds, with at least five samples. Position spread is the greatest distance from the average of those four positions. Filtering can affect all results. This is not a latency or hardware polling-rate test.
Connect a controller to check browser rumble support.

Resting-Stick Measurement
This describes the input exposed by your browser. Firmware and remapping software can already apply deadzones. These readings do not certify hardware condition.

Connect A PS3 Controller To A Windows PC
A DualShock 3 needs a suitable Windows driver before a website can read it. Start with a USB data cable that fits its Mini-USB port. A charging connection alone does not confirm that Windows can receive controller input.
Connect the controller by USB and open DsHidMini Control App to confirm that it appears. Follow the setup checks provided by your installed version.
Return here, focus the page and press a face button. Select the responding device in the tester.
Bluetooth Setup Is Different From Newer PlayStation Controllers
For the DsHidMini wireless route, follow the BthPS3 instructions and connect by USB once to pair the controller. Do not pair it through ordinary Windows Bluetooth discovery. If USB works but wireless does not, use Control App’s Bluetooth checks and the project’s connection guidance.
Why Does My PS3 Controller Appear As Xbox?
DsHidMini’s default XInput mode presents an emulated Xbox controller to applications. That name describes the driver’s output. Choose DualShock 3 / PS3 button naming here if you prefer PlayStation symbols, Select and Start. The raw device name, button indices and readings stay unchanged.
When comparing saved results, keep the same driver mode and connection. A direct device and a remapped output can expose different readings from the same physical controller.
Run A Useful DualShock 3 Check
Press the face buttons, D-pad, shoulders, Select, Start and both stick clicks one at a time. Some system controls may be intercepted before reaching the page.
Rotate both sticks, release them on a stable surface and run the resting-stick measurement. Repeat after moving the sticks from another direction.
Squeeze L2 and R2 slowly. Use the values supplied by the active driver mode rather than assuming the original sensor values are exposed.
Try basic vibration only if the browser offers it. Save a snapshot with the driver mode, USB or Bluetooth connection and any remapping profile.
Pressure-Sensitive Buttons And SIXAXIS Motion
This browser test records the buttons and axes exposed through the Gamepad API. It does not certify native pressure-sensitive face-button behavior or SIXAXIS motion. A digital-looking button value can reflect the driver mapping. Check the driver’s HID mode documentation when a game needs those features.
Controller Still Missing?
Confirm that it appears in Control App first. Then try another data cable or USB port, refresh the tester and press a button with the page focused. If the browser reports a non-standard mapping, inspect the raw input list; named stick diagnostics require a standard mapping.
The classic PS3 controller uses symmetrical sticks and Select / Start controls. On Windows, confirm the driver and input mode before testing.

Before You Test
On Windows, begin with a USB data cable and the official DsHidMini setup guide. Its default XInput mode can appear as an Xbox controller; the PS3 naming option changes labels only.
Confirm USB input first. For wireless use, follow BthPS3 pairing guidance; ordinary Windows Bluetooth discovery is not the setup route.
What To Check Here
Press each face button and direction once. Use the raw input list if the browser has no standard mapping.
Move the sticks around their range, release them and run the resting-stick test. Save the active profile alongside the results.
Squeeze and release both triggers. A short-travel or digital mode can change the values you observe.
Rear buttons can repeat existing inputs. Browser rumble does not test motion sensors, audio or adaptive-trigger resistance.
